the things i would do for a shotgun right now
today was my first real bonfire night! last year i was on my way to capernwray with LUUSAC to do some training and although it was cool to see loads of bonfires and fireworks going on all throughout the country as we were driving there, i didnt get to see any up close and personal. so this time, michael came and met me for the fiasco. we went to the museum and art gallery and finished up the exhibits in there, but i was rushing myself cause i wanted to go to the pickford house, so right before i left the museum, i went to the bathroom and didnt bother to take off my bag, and when i stood up i realized one of the straps for my waist buckle had been in the toilet cause it was all wet. thats what i get for saving 1.3 seconds of time it would have taken for me to remove the bag. then we went to the pickford house, which was a museum of a georgian style house. then we headed over to markeaton park for the entertainment. there were lotsss of people there! and the weather held out, no rain and it wasnt too cold. a young boy group called MEN performed a song on the stage, which the derby audience was wildly supportive of, and then after that we headed over to the bonfire. the flames went super high!! that was lit for about 20 min then the fireworks started. they were real cool, some very pretty ones! when it was over i left michael to ride to tescos for dinner, and he walked to the guesthouse. i parked outside tescos on a bike rack, and when i came out a dog was on the other side of the rack. when i went to unlock, the dog came over to say hello, and its neck was right up against the cogs! i thought, ok lady it wasnt exactly a good idea to park your dog next to a bicycle, but i got to have a quick cuddle so all was well =) went i got back to the guesthouse, it had been transformed from a boring and quiet senior center like accommodation, to a freshmen dorm! there were a whole bunch of girls, probably near my age, that were listening to music loudly and getting pumped up for their night out in the fantastic derby club scene. one even mistakenly opened my door, looking for her friend. hopefully i will be tired enough to sleep through their drunken antics when they return at 3 am. anyway, tomorrow i head for nottingham after the bf and i walk around derby for one last time! toodles!
